MTV’s Awkward

Nobody ever gets over high school, really. At least not completely, not totally. Five or ten years after high school, we still get random flashbacks of how awesome it was. You know, those tiny bits of memories made with friends, inside classrooms, in the gym, during flag ceremonies, over lunches, at sleepovers, etc. And I think that is why MTV’s Awkward is such an interesting TV show.

Awkward is a comedy-drama about various high school personalities, including the popular girls, the cute boys, and the outcasts who go unnoticed by both. The story is told from the point of view of Jenna Hamilton as she writes about her struggles of being a teenager in an online blog journal.

The show allows us to get in touch with the high school versions of ourselves. That and its feel good way of storytelling plus its awesome plot make the whole series so compelling.

But who needs reasons, really? Just watch the series, if you haven’t seen it yet. And before you know it, you are totally in love with Jenna, Jake, Matty or even with the bitch Sadie.
