Which horror film character scared you the most

I am a fan of horror movies. I don’t mind rewatching The Shining, or A Nightmare On Elm Street alone tonight, only if I know my parents would still let me sleep in their room afterwards. But I really love a good scare, especially the type that could beat the man out of me, that I wouldn’t be able to go to the bathroom alone for days, and I would sleep in my parents’ room for two straight weeks, probably in between my dad and my mom, with my whole body under a thick blanket, and the room’s mirror also fully covered with cloth.

Below are five of the scariest horror movie characters I’ve seen. They haunted me for a week or two. They invaded my sleep, my trip to the restroom, and even my journey on the staircase.

5. Toshio, The Grudge

His white body. His black cat. The black rings around his eyes. And the cat sounds he makes. Toshio is definitely one of the scariest movie characters of all time. He even attacked one of the things I usually resort to whenever I’m scared: hiding under the blanket.

4. Undin, Shake, Rattle & Roll

Undin is part-time scary and full-time ugly. While you say the character is retarted (and I now agree), please note that I was about 8 years old when I first saw this episode of Shake, Rattle, & Roll, and it totally terrified the shit out of me. Literally and figuratively. I couldn’t go to the toilet for weeks without a vision of Undin.

3. Toy Clown in Poltergeist

With their unflattering facial makeup and uncoordinated creepy demeanor, clowns are scary enough. Film producers and directors didn’t really have to impose an extra scary twist to clowns. They are already scary. But Poltergeist had to happen.

2. Natre, The Shutter

Natre could go down the stairs head first, and sit on your shoulders for days. It’s like she’s a superghost or something. Those eyes, and the way those eyes stare, and the image of her entire body, and the anger on her face - for a time, I couldn’t forget how she looked like when she was chasing after Ananda’s character.

1. Michael Myers, Halloween

He doesn’t talk. He just kills people. Michael Myers is the masked serial killer in the horror film Halloween released in 1978. What’s scary about him primarily is his face, and his eagerness to kill people. With Michael Myers, you’re never safe inside your house because that’s where he wants to kill you.

Note that this is just a rough list of the most memorable characters from the horror films that I’ve watched. Yes, they scared me for a time, and the dreadful image of any of these characters coming after me will remain in my imagination. But I love watching horror movies. I don’t know why exactly but I love the feeling of being scared of something I don’t even know is real. As long as they’re in the TV screen, I don’t mind hanging out with them.

How about you? Which horror film character scared you the most?

  1. joulo said: Omigosh. I’m deathly terrified of Toshio too. That son of a bitch could use some agonizing spanking. LOL
  2. sayitsnotforever answered: If you like being scared by clowns, better watch IT by Stephen King. I also recommend The Orphanage (Spanish) and Trick R Treat
  3. waterfiction answered: buti na lang di yung nakaupo si natre sa shoulders nung guy na pic yung nilagay mo, kundi di ako makakatulog sa takot hahaha
  4. tralalalalalalai answered: it’s SHOMBA . from coming soon :))
  5. amemoryhole said: Unlike you, I prefer keeping myself scare-free. Haha. But, I did watch one earlier and hers was the only face I saw so I’d say it’s Shomba from a Thai movie, Coming Soon.
  6. eft answered: Cliche man pero kahit sinong bida sa kahit anong Asian horror films. Tangina nung mga ‘yon. Basta babaeng long hair at maputla. Huhu po.
  7. geleeann said: My god, si Natre!!!!!!!! :(
