I know Mark Zuckerberg is threatened by Google+ but the only thing he needs to do to sustain the life of his greatest contribution to mankind, Facebook, is to stop changing it. Otherwise, he’ll see a death worse than that of Friendster anytime soon.
The Facebook Timeline. It’s like an automated autobiography for Facebook users. A way for every single person to record and share the story of his life, where he’s been, who he’s been with, what he’s been doing. All of it laid out in one page like a one giant scrapbook.
It offers a cover photo which is kinda similar to Multiply’s header. And it kinda looks like a mashup of Plurk, Tumblr, and DeviantArt, only improved.
Zuckerberg calls it “The Story Of Your Life On A Single Page.” Let’s call it “The change we needn’t.”
The OLD Facebook didn’t need a change. It was already perfect. But the Facebook Timeline looks promising. And I think we can get used to it in time.
